Mermaids

Atifa and Olivia have spent the evening being mermaids in the bath. In the holidays Atifa created a safari park in the sandpit, an environment with plastic insects and rocks in a box, and now she's making a box town/world both at home and at school (first thing up at home was a petrol station, next things will be a Video Ezy).

Who is it that's slack?

Hey Marco, you haven't posted to this blog for nearly 2 weeks after you declared it re-opened, how slack is that?

iPod blogging

Test post. From my iPod. How cool is that.

That's me, in the primary colours ...

When I was on TV last time. In South Park. Really. I was on TV a lot when I was younger, in commercials for Weet-Bix, ice-cream and air-conditioning. Anything with a hyphen. Also billboards and magazines.

Not sure if I'm allowed to say this

Also, not sure if I'm allowed to say that Matt has been getting up at 6am every day for the last few months to write and he's about 30,000 words into it. Cycling is no longer such an obsession (but maybe Spanish will replace that)... but being obsessive is how he gets so good at things.

Re-Opening

My family has promised to be ever so slightly active and actually MAKE A POST, so I hereby declare this blog re-open!

By the way, check out my new blog here: drakeeddings.blogspot.com

Buenos Aires

So this crazy family is off to Buenos Aires in the April school holidays. I put us into debt by buying us plane tickets (Qantas' kids fly free offer, carefully timed so we were sure of getting the government hand out we don't really need so we spend it on reckless trips to Latin America) and booking an apartment for 2 weeks. Matt has already become semi-proficient in Spanish by constantly listening to podcasts of a Scottish teach Spanish show on his new i-Pod touch we bought him for his birthday (just managing not to ruin his birthday seeing as I seized my back a few days earlier and couldn't do anything to prepare except try to help the kids make him breakfast and go back to bed). Last night we all watched Nueve Reinas (Nine Queens) to get used to being scammed and pickpocketed (just joking, hopefully no portenos are reading this). We start Spanish lessons on Tuesday with a Mexican friend of our Chilean friend Ariel, who has promised to help us practice. Atifa specified I had to rent an apartment with a garden (it's got a courtyard) so we can hide Easter eggs. Finding Easter eggs is her highest priority.
